The Pfeiffer test is used to detect the possible presence of cognitive impairment. It is the most used for its brevity and ease of use, has high reliability and is less influenced than other tests by education level and race.
The interpretation of the results is:
0-2 errors: normal intellectual functioning.
3-7 errors: Intellectual functioning deficit. Suspected impaired.
8-10 errors: severe intellectual deficit.
In individuals with primary education level allowed more wrong.
During the higher education level less error.
